| Objective To describe the status of nursing job burnout, work environment and self-efficacy and explore the relationship among them. To contrast the difference and learn about the level of correlation of nursing job burnout, work environment and self-efficacy based on different demographics.Method Non-experimental design method was used in this study.650 nurses from two third grade comprohensive hospitals in Jilin province were selected by accidental sampling.The questionnaire contained four parts:Iventory of demographic characteri-stics about nurses, Maslach Burnout Iventory, Profession Practice Environment and General Self-Efficacy Scale. Dates were analysed by SPSS 13.0. The main methods of statistics were descriptive analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation.Result(1)The score of job burnout is 53.41±20.59. The dimensions of burnout sequenced from upper to lower are as follows:emotional exhaustion,pesonal accomplish and depersonalization.The score of work environment is 23.18±2.85.The dimensions of work environment sequenced from upper to lower are as follows:staff relatinships with physicians, cultural sensitivity, internal work motivation,leadership and autonomy in clinical practice, handling disagreement and coflict, communication about patients,teamwork, control over practice.The score of self-efficacy is 2.43±0.60,which show mederate degree.(2) Job burnout was affacted by age, working years, employment type,professional title,post, day-night shift and income; Work environment was affacted by age, educational background, and professional title;Self-efficacy was affacted by age,mari-tal status, working years, employment type, professional title and post.(3) There existed correlation among job burnout,work environment and self-efficacy Job burnout had a negative correlation with work environment and self-efficacy, and work environment had a positive correlation with self-efficacy. Conclusion The degree of job burnout of nurses is much serious, emotinal exhausti-on is obvious. Clinial nurses had a positive attitude about work environment, staff relatinships with physicians is highest,and control over practice is the lowest.The score of self-efficacy is lower. Worse work environment and lower self-efficacy caused higher burnout. The intervention to burnout can begin with improving nures' professional work environment and enhance self-efficacy. |
