Objective:To explore the changes of plasma chemerin and ghrelin levels in Kazaks patients with essential hypertention (EH),to analyze the relations between plasma chemerin, ghrelin and blood pressure,blood lipids, blood glucose,insulin resistance and obesity.Methods:Totally 165 Kazaks from Manasi county of Xinjiang were selected for the subject. They were divided into two groups according to their blood pressure:EH group (n=85) and control group (n=80),In EH group,they were divided into three subgroups, include grade 1(n=38),grade 2(n=30) and grade 3(n=17). Measurment all of their systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP), body height,body mass, waist circumference and hip. Fasting venous blood was drawn to detect blood glucose, triacylglycerol(TG), total cholesterol(TC), low density lipoprotein cholesterin(LDL-C),high density lipoprotein cholesterin(HDL-C),Apoprotein-A1 (Apo-A1),Apoprotein-B(Apo-B),insulin,plasma chemerin and plasma ghrelin. Figure out waist-hip ratio(WHR),body mass index(BMI),body fat percentage(BF%), Homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR).Plasma chemerin and ghrelin were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).The datas were analyzed with t-test,Pearson correlation and multiple stepwise regression analysis.Results:1. The plasma chemerin level in EH group was higher than that in control group (P<0.01).2. The plasma ghrelin level in EH group was significantly lower than that in control group (P<0.01).3.In EH sungroups plasma ghrelin level was reduced with the increase of blood pressure(P<0.01).4.Pearson correlation analysis showed that:1)chemerin and all index:In EH group,Plasma chemerin was positively correlated with SBP,DBP, TG,WC,BMI,WHR,FPG,FINS, HOMA-IR and BF%(P<0.05 or 0.01); In control group,Plasma chemerin was positively corelated with SBP,DBP, TQWC,BMI,LDL-C,Apo-B(P<0.05 or 0.01).2) In EH group, Plasma ghrelin level was negatively correlated with SBP,DBP,TC,LDL-C,Apo-B,WC,BMI,FINS,HOMA-IR (P<0.05 or 0.01); In control group, Plasma ghrelin level was negatively correlated with SBP,DBP,Fins,HOMA-IR (P<0.05).5. Multiple stepwise regression analysis revealed that SBP, TG and BMI were the independent determinants for chemerin(P<0.05), and WC and TC were the independent determinants for plasma ghrelin(P<0.05).Conclusions:1.Plasma chemerin level was higher in EH group than that in control group, and there were some relations between chemerin and blood pressure,blood lipids,obesity and insulin resistance, SBP, triacylglycerol and body mass index were the independent determinants for chemerin.2.Plasma ghrelin level was significantly lower in Kazaks EH group compared with the control group, and plasma ghrelin level reduced with the rise of blood pressure. plasma ghrelin level was negatively correlated with blood pressure, blood lipids,obesity and insulin resistance in EH group.WC and TC were independent factors to plasma ghrelin in EH group.
