There is great relationship between drug and human life. So, it has a great significance to study its characteristics, ascertain its mechanism. The oscillation behavior was investigated by using chemical oscillation technique in oscillation reaction system KBrO3-H+-Mn2+-acetone with Chinese herb medicine Radix paeoniae pubra,Hongtun,Rhizoma paridis,Peicarpium citri reticulatae viride,Rhizoma pinalliae,Coriex mori,Codix ophiopogonis,Radix stephaniae tetrandrae as substrate. The characteristic oscillation profiles and the range of substrate concentration of the oscillation systems have obtained. And their characteristic parameters (oscillation induction period, period, amplitude and oscillation life) were also studied. The effects of concentration of substrate, H2SO4, KBrO3, Mn2+ on the period, amplitude, and life of oscillation were discussed and the action of each substance in the oscillation system was verified. The dynamic equation and the apparent activation energy of Radix paeoniae pubra were calculated. According to the thermodynamic functions we calculated△H ,△G ,△S of the induction period and oscillation period. The results show that the oscillation reaction is a process from disorder to order. In an open system environment provides all the heat used to increase the internal energy. The system begins to oscillate when the entropy flow of the outside world is to meet the system reaches a negative entropy flow. So the oscillation profiles which are got based on above whether macro or micro patterns are obvious differences. So, it provides a reliable basis for the qualitative identification of Chinese herb medicine. As we all known, the half-life of drug is an important indicator for drug efficacy and using. This experiment studied the dissolved process of paclitaxel in DMSO, oxymatrine in normal saline and matrine in ethanol, respectively, using micro-calorimetry method. The differential enthalpy (△difHm) and molar enthalpy (△solHm) of these three drugs were determined. The relationship between the heat and the amount of solute were also established. The corresponding kinetic equations that described the dissolution process were elucidated. Moreover, the half-life, molar entropy, molar enthalpy and Gibbs free energy of the dissolution process were also obtained. The results show that the half-life which was obtained by micro-calorimetry was consistent with the results from human body. Obviously, this determination provides a simple, fast and accurate method for half-life of drug. It can also provides a theoretical reference for the clinical application of drug.
