| Objective (1)To study the expressions of secreted protein, acidic and rich in cysteine (SPARC),Matrix Metalloproteinase2(MMP-2)and vascular endothlial growth factor(VEGF) in gastric cancer.(2) To explore the relationship between their co-expression and gastric carcinoma progression. Methods The expressions of SPARC, MMP-2 and VEGF were determined by immunohistochemical method in 50 cases of gastric cancer, 36 cases of normol gastric mucosa .Results1. The positive expression rate of SPARC in gastric cancer and normal gastric mucosa were 68.0% (34/50) and 25.0% (9/36),with significant difference(χ2=25.545,P<0.01).The expression of SPARC in gastric cancer was related to invasion depth , lymph node metastasis, clinic stages(P<0.05).2. The positive expression rate of MMP-2 in gastric cancer and normal tissues were 74%(37/50)and 19.4%(7/36),with significant difference(χ2=35.843,P<0. 01).The expression of MMP-2 in gastric cancer was related to differentiation , invasion depth , lymph node and distant metastasis, clinic stages(P<0.05).3. The positive expression rate of VEGF in gastric gastric cancer and normal gastric mucosa were 76%(38/50) and 22.2%(8/36),with significant different(χ2=27.898,P<0.01). The expression of VEGF in gastric cancer was related to tumor size, invasion depth , lymph node metastasis, clinic stages(P<0.05).4. The expression of SPARC and MMP-2,SPARC and VEGF,VEGF and MMP-2 were positive correlation with significant difference(r=0.317, 0.473, 0.414, P<0.05).ConclusionThe expression of SPARC, MMP-2 and VEGF were higher in gastric cancer compared with normal gastric mucosa, it indicates that the decreased expression of SPARC, VEGF and MMP-2 was closely associated with gastric cancer.; In gastric cancer, the expression of SPARC, MMP-2 and VEGF was related to invasion and metastasis; The expression of SPARC and MMP-2, SPARC and VEGF, VEGF and MMP-2 were was positively correlated, it indicates that SPARC, MMP-2 and VEGF could promotes the process of invasion and metastasis of gastric cancer . |
