Objective: To investigate the expression and significance of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptorγ(PPAR-γ)in the sinus mucosa of CRSsNP.Methods: Using immunohistochemistry and RT-PCR , testing the content of PPAR-γin sinus mucosa and nasal polyps of patients with chronic sinusitis without nasal polyps and normal inferior turbinate, and analyzing the differences.Results:①The PPAR-γwas found both in sinus mucosa and nasal polyps of CRSsNP and in normal inferior turbinate.②The expression of PPAR-γin sinus mucosa and nasal polyps of CRSsNP was lower than that in normal inferior turbinate tissue, and the differences was prominent in statistics.③No differences in the expression of PPAR-γwere obtained in sinus mucosa of CRSsNP and nasal polyps. Conclusion: The PPAR-γexpressed in human nasal mucosa, meanwhile it was descending in sinus mucosa of CRSsNP and nasal polyps. The long-term inflammations resulted from CRSsNP and nasal polyps might related to PPAR-γ, It suggested that PPAR-γagonists may offer a new therapy for the treatment of Chronic Rhinosinusitis and Nasal Polyps.
