ObjectiveGastric carcinoma is human common malignant tumors. Although in recent years gastric carcinoma incidence in some countries declined, but still in the current domestic and international predominantly malignant tumor of the digestive system, one of the first malignant tumors. The invasion and metastasis of gastric carcinoma are the important causes which ersult in death and fail treatment of patients. And for gastric cancer metastasis in clinical almost have not good prevention and control measures. So explore the possible mechanism of cancer metastasis, do our best to minimize the metastasis is one of the key to enhance curative effection of gastric carcinoma. hOT7T175 gene is a newly discovered metastasis suppressor and tumor-related genes. It belongs to a structurally distinct family of cell surface glycoproteins. This experiment is mainly discussed about the expression of hOT7T175 gene in the stomach tissue and normal tissue adjacent to cancer, and explore it′s clinical significance. So we can do some useful exploration about the correlation of gastric metastasis for the mechanism, taking place of clinical metastasis and estimation and genetic intervention.MethodsRetrospective analysis of Liaocheng Second People's Hospital admitted gastriccarcinoma patients form January 2009 to November 2010, and collected the patients′general information, especially the clinical pathologic result of the lymph node metastasis. To detect the expression level of hOT7T175 in 64 gastric carcinoma tissues and 30 adjacent normal tissues by immunohistochemistry and to analyze the relationship with clinicopathologic characteristic in gastric carcinoma and to explor expression and clinical significance of hOT7T175 gene in Gastric carcinomaResultsThe positive rate of hOT7T175 protein in gastric carcinoma was 57.8%(37/64)and 83.3%(25/30)in adjacent normal tissues. The result was significantly different between two groups (P<0.05). The expression of hOT7T175 correlated with lymph node metastasis in the gastric carcinoma (P<0.05). No correlation was found between the expression of hOT7T175 and other clinicopathological factors such as patient's sex, age, tumor location, depth of invasion and differentiation degree.(P>0.05).Conclusion1. hOT7T175 low expressed in gastric carcinoma and highly expressed in nontumorous nasopharyngeal tissue. These indicated that hOT7T175 may play an important role in carcinogenesis and develepment of gastric carcinoma.2. Loss of hOT7T175 expression was correlated with clinical stage and lymph node metastasis of gastric carcinoma. These indicated that hOT7T175 may play an important role in metastases of gastric carcinoma.
