Caper Euphorbia Seed is the dried ripe seed of Euphorbia lathyris L.Edema or retained fluid with abdominal distension which has been used for remeding hydropsy, ascites, coprostasis, anuresis, amenorrhea, venous stasis, terminal schistosomiasis, scabies, and snakebite Semen Euporbiae taste "Sim, mild; toxic", it is a toxic medicine. According to the regulations and the practice of Chinese medicine stipulated by the State Food and Drug Administration of China, only processed the seeds of Euphorbia lathyris can be used legally, because the processed Euphorbia lathyris seeds has lower toxic. Euphorbia lathyris seeds contains a series of diterpenoids known as Euphorbia factors L1~L11. It is possible that diterpenoids have undesired toxic side effects. This study sought to a method for identifing five diterpenoids (Euphorbia factor L1—L3, L7a, L8) with the spectra of UV and mass, quantifying three diterpenoids L1, L2, and L8 in crude extracts of unprocessed and processed Euphorbia lathyris seeds by liquid chromatography/electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS). The contents of the three diterpenoids in processed Euphorbia lathyris seeds were 3.435 mg-g-1,1.367 mg-g-1,0.286 mg-g-1, which decreased more sharply than in unprocessed Euphorbia lathyris seeds which were 4.915 mg-g-1,1.944 mg-g-1,0.425 mg-g-1. The results indicated that the processed Euphorbia lathyris seeds has lower toxic. The method provides the theory basis for the quality control of unprocessed and processed Euphorbia lathyris seeds.Cordyceps sinensis (Cs) or Dongchongxiacao in Chinese is a special type of mushroom, which is formed on an insect larva infected by the Cs fungus. It is a rare and precious medicinal mushroom having great medicinal value. It is commonly used in China to replenish the kidney, soothe the lung for the treatment of fatigue, night sweating, hypo-sexualities, hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, asthenia after sever illness, respiratory disease, renal dysfunction and renal failure, arrhythmias and other heart, and liver disease. Adenosine as an index for quality control of Cordyceps sinensis is recorded in the《Chinese Pharmacopoeia》(2010 version). Whether a correlation exists between adenosine and other active ingredients, has not been reported. They are also mainly discussed and studied in this thesis. This study first investigated submerged liquid fermentention conditions for Cordyceps sinensis CICC 50002 strain in different culture medium and different submerged conditions.20 Cordyceps mycelial with various adenine contents has been prepared. Contents of adenosine were detected by reverse phase high performance liquid chromatograph, Phenol-sulfuric acid method and colorimetric method were used to detect total saccharide and mannitol contents in the Cordyceps militaris extract. Using SPSS 17.0 to do statistic analyze and investigate the relationship between the contents of adenine and other active substance. Finally, exploring the effect of extracts from Cordyceps mycelial on mouse splenocyte proliferation. The experimental results of the contents of adenosine, total saccharide, mannitol from Cordyceps Mycelia might reach 0.27~1.26mg-g-1,2.99~56.48mg-g"1,34.35~147.62mg-g-1, respectively. There was no significant correlation between adenosine, total saccharide, mannitol by single factor analysis, Linear Regression and Curve Estimation. Extracts from Cordyceps mycelial could promote the proliferations of T cells that enhance immune function. The method provides the theory basis for the quality control of Cordyceps sinensis and substitution.
