Western medicine group were given only Rabeprazole enteric tablets 20mg p. o bid and domperidone tablets 1# p. o bid. Integrative medicine group were given both above. The courses were all 8 weeks. Questionnaires were taken to score the degrees and frequency of symptoms from patients at pretherapy,4 weeks'therapy,8 weeks'therapy and 2 weeks after drug withdrawal. By the accumulated points and endoscopic results, we finally got the information about change of patients'condition, curative effects and prognosis after drug withdrawal.Result:TCM group and western medicine group both made effects on liver-stomach disharmony type of GERD, while integrative medicine group was significantly more effective. In the area of clinical symptoms, at 4 weeks'therapy, the total effective rate of TCM group was 50%, western medicine group was 75% and integrative medicine group was 77.5%. It was showed that the rate of latter two groups were significantly higher than TCM group (p<0.05). At 8 week' s therapy, total effective rate of TCM group was 72.5%, western medicine group was 80%. There was no significant difference between (p>0.05). While the total effective rate of integrative medicine group was 95%. Compared with the former two ones, it was significantly higher (p<0.05). At the other side, significant difference existed in the total effective rate of integrative medicine group between 8 weeks'therapy and 4 weeks'therapy (p<0.05). At 2 weeks after drugs withdrawal, there was no significant difference in TCM group and integrative medicine group compared with those at 8 weeks'therapy (p>0.05). However, in western medicine group the total effective rate significantly decreased when compared with that at 8 weeks'therapy (p<0.05). Total effective rate of integrative medicine group was 87.5%, which was still significantly higher than the former two groups. In the area of endoscopic mucous membrane repair, total effective rate of TCM group was 55%, western medicine group was 72.5% and integrative medicine group was 80%. Compared with TCM group, the rates of western medicine and integrative medicine were significantly higher (p<0.05).Conclusion:Treatment with TCM formula and acupuncture or western medicine both made good effects on liver-stomach disharmony of GERD. The former one was weak in controlling symptoms at early time but good at after drug withdrawal. The latter one does bad in symptoms recurrence but well in mucous membrane repair for esophagus.
