ObjectiveTo observe the clinical therapeutic of the treatment to lumbar intervertebral disc herniation (LIDH) with electro-acupuncture and heat-sensitive moxibustion and its influence on hemorheology of LIDH patient before and after treatment. To provide scientific experimental evidence for the treatment of this disease.MethodsA total of 60 LIDH patients from acupuncture outpatient department and inpatient department of Wuhan Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western were meet the diagnostic criteria and inclusion criteria. They were randomly allocated into treatment group (30 cases) and control group(30 cases).Treatment group were treated by electro-acupuncture with heat-sensitive moxibustion. Treatment group had treatment once a day for two courses of treatment, six days equal one treament.Control group were treated by electro-acupuncture and mild moxibustion. The two groups acupunctured the same point, control group had treatment once a day for two courses of treatment. Six days equal one treatment. After two courses, observed the low back pain score sheet value, rheology results and clinical efficacy. Results 1. Comparison of low back pain score sheet values:value in patients with low back pain score sheet of the two groups had no significant differences before treatment (P>0.05). They were comparable. After treatment, value in patients with low back pain score sheet of the two groups had a significant difference (P<0.01); comparison of low back pain difference score sheet were significantly different between (P<0.05); Two treatments that can improve clinical symptoms, signs and activities of daily living, but the treatment group was better than the control group.2. Comparison of clinical efficacy:the treatment group 30 cases, recovered 8 cases, markedly effective in 15 cases,5 cases,2 cases, the total effective rate was 93.33%; the control group of 30 patients recovered 5 cases, markedly effective in 7 cases, effective in 13 cases, invalid in 5 cases, the total efficiency was 83.33%; the treatment group had significant differences compared with the control group(P<0.05). So the efficacy of the treatment group was more than the control group.3. Comparison of blood rheology:the two groups had improved on plasma viscosity, relative index of high shear whole blood, relative index of low shear whole blood. RBC aggregation index after treatment(P<0.05), but the treatment group was better than the control group. Treatment group had improved on shear rate whole blood viscosity 1.00(P<0.05),shear rate whole blood viscosity30.00(P<0.05),shear rate whole blood viscosity200.00 (P<0.05), but the control group had no improvement on shear rate whole blood viscosity 1.00(P>0.05). shear rate whole blood viscosity30.00(P>0.05)and shear rate whole blood viscosity 200.00 (P>0.05); the whole blood viscosity shear rate 5.00(P> 0.05) of the two group were not improved. So the two groups all can improve some indicators of hemorheology of LIDH. But the treatment group was better than the control group. Conclusion This study shows that electro-acupuncture with heat-sensitive moxibustion had good effect on LIDH.
