Influence Of Doctor-Patient Interaction On Doctor-Patient Knowledge Transfer Performance

Asymmetric information and mistrust between doctor and patient is main reason of medical disputes. Doctor-Patient knowledge transfer is the main approach to soloving this problem. Doctor-Patient interaction is the critical method. Appropritate and effective Doctor-Patient interaction can improve effect of communication between doctor and patient, which can improve patients'awareness, compliance and satisfaction. This paper discusses concept, dimensions of Doctor-Patient interaction, developing its scale. On this basic, this paper examines the influence on Doctor-Patient interaction and Doctor-Patient knowledge transfer effect. What's more, this paper also discusses the effect of patients'information searching between Doctor-Patient interaction and Doctor-Patient knowledge transfer effect.This paper starts with review of literature. It summarizes the research about doctor-patient communication, Doctor-Patient interaction, and Doctor-Patient knowledge transfer, proposing theoretical hypothesis basic and research ideas. On the basis of academic analyses, this paper defines Doctor-Patient concept, dimensions and testing scale according to interview of doctors and patients. At last, this paper pulls in a new variable (patients'information searching) and builds a research model of influence on Doctor-Patient interaction to Doctor-Patient knowledge transfer effect.At the fisrst stage of empirical research, structured interviews with doctors and patients is carried out. According to the results of interview, this paper designs a questionnaire. At the second stage, this paper revises the questionnaire through analyzing data from pre-investigaiton.At the third stage, a investigation to patients is made. In addition, the data is analyzed with SPSS 18.0.The empirical results supported most of our hypothesis.The main conclusions are shown as follows:interaction context, interaction degree and interaction situation are main factors influencing Doctor-Patient knowledge transfer effect. Instrumental context, doctor emotion and cooperative have a positive influence on patients' awreness; doctor emotion and cooperative have a positive influence on patients' satisfaction; clinic busyness has a negative influence of patients'satisfaction. There is no factor influencing patients'compliance. What's more, patients information searching has a moderating effect between Doctor-patient interaction and Doctor-patient knowledge transfer. It has a moderating effect among instrumental context, doctor emotion, cooperative and patients'awreness, and a moderating effect among doctor emotion, cooperative, clinic busyness and patients'satisfaction. Different age, education degree, average income per person in family, the form of payment have a significant difference on Doctor-patient knowledge transfer; different education degree, average income per person in family, times of seeing doctor, severity have a significant difference on Doctor-patient interaction; patients with different information searching behaviors has a significant difference on Doctor-patient interaction. The influence of interacton context and interaction degree to Doctor-patient knowledge transfer effect is different. These outcomes can guide doctors, healthcare institutions and patients how to improve their acts and Doctor-patient knowledge transfer effect.Finally, the dissertation summarizes the conclusions, and points out the limitation and the future prospect of this research.
