Objective To evaluation of left atrium function in essential hypertension patients with real-time-triplane strain rate imaging (SRI) and color flow Doppler imaging (CDFI), seek the direct method and quantitative index to evaluate left atrium function and essential hypertension patients. Method Totally 50 patients with essential hypertension including group A (left ventricular function normal) 30 cases and group B (left ventricular hypertrophy) 20 cases and 31 healthy volunteers were enrolled. The rate of strain curve of the left atrium sidewall, under the wall, the front and the behind board were obtained by SRI and early, lately diastolic peak strain of the rate and systolic peak strain rate were measured. The differences of the above parameters in each group and the relevance of the above parameters and the left atrium (LAF), the left atrium initiative evacuation score (LAAEF) were observe. Result Comparing with control group, the SRe of hypertension A, B decreased (P<0.01), but SRS and SRa increased (P<0.01) gradually. SRe and LAF had a good negative correlation (r=-0.659, p<0.05), SRS and LAF had the remarkable positive correlation(r= 0.712, p<0.01).Conclusion There are same limitations to evaluate left atrium function by E/A and LAF. Real-time three plane strain rate imaging technology can analysis the left atrial function in essential hypertension patients with a new angle and provide the basis for clinical intervention.
