Wood dressings are used in all kinds of wounds and the surface of the medical materials. They can be made to against bacteria infections and other external factors, they are medical materials to protect wound.Bacterial cellulose (BC) is a natural hydrogel exhibited better properties than synthetic polymers, for example, it displays higher water content (98-99%) and sorption of liquids, higher wet strength and chemical purity, and so on. BC can absorb heat and reduce pain, can protect the wound from secondary infection and mechanical damage, and it won't stick to the new organization, can accelerate wound healing process, it also has good permeability to moisture and electrolyte. Compared with other materials, BC is more advantageous for the growth of the skin.Therefore, it has wide applications in the wound dressings, and it is a kind of natural wound dressings.Plackett-Burman (PB) test design method was used in this paper, the four main factors were screened, and then the Box-Behnten center combination experimental design and response surface analysis (R.SM) method were used to determine the optimal concentration: glucose 2.21%, yeast extract+tryptone 1.00%, citric acid 0.20%, disodium phosphate0.30%, potassium dihydrogen phosphate 0.30%, magnesium sulfate 0.30%.The optimum fermentation condition of Acetobacter xylinum was:12%of inoeulum size was inserted, after inoculation shaking facilitate mycelium dispersed evenly, training 6 days, the incubation temperature was 30℃. The condition for the production of bacterial cellulose was 6.737 g/0.1L.Secondly, air permeability and moisture transmission were analysised on the basis of GB/T1014.1-2006, GB/T1038-2000, GB/T1037-88, Antimicrobial activity(Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli) were analysised on the basis of dressings standard YY0471-2006. Meanwhile, it is necessary to study structure for bacterial cellulose as wound dressing. Therefore, structure and properties of bacterial cellulose membrane were analyzed in the static training. The electron microscope,X-ray diffraction,hold water and so on of bacterial cellulose membrane were analysised. It is a basic to accumulate for bacterial cellulose in medical applications.The production technology of BC is simple, as well as the material is sterilized, but it also has the biocompatibility, porous and elastic, easy storage treatment, easy to absorb exudate etc, it is helpful for cutaneous tissue growth and restrictions infection. So BC was applied to be as wound dressing in this paper. BC to the wound healing of rabbits was studied.The experiments show that:bacterial cellulose was applied in wound dressing, it can inhibit slight inflammatory response. Compared with control group, the wound healing rate of treatment group increased obviously in 8th days; Scar tissue completely droped'and fresh granulation tissue generated on experiment group in 13th day, there is still a little scar tissue. After 20th days wound healed completely, which explains BC has curative effect for wound healing of skin.
