The author of The Performance of the Heroic and tragic Aesthetic Aspects of Pipa Music' tries to make comparative analysis and cultural interpretation of the musical features of the King of Chu Doffs His Armour by using interdisciplinary research methods through the perspective of musical Aesthetic Psychology.The first chapter was focusing on the historical evolution of this piece, definition of Pipa music, as well as the development of its major schools and scores in a historical context.The second chapter mainly worked on the comparative analysis and interpretation according to the backgrounds, structure and artistic feature about the selected three different versions of the piece, trying to explore the characteristics and aesthetic orientation of each version.Chapter three did the comprehensive discussion about the aesthetic aspects of traditional Chinese music culture, as well as the analysis of the elements, features and the developments of its heroic and tragic aesthetic paradigm, which fully revealed the artistic charm and value of this piece.Chapter four tried to explain the modern interpretation of the aesthetic effect of this piece through musical aesthetic psychology by analyzing and combing the King of Chu Doffs His Armour on its changes and evolutions.the author analyzed the modern aesthetic psychological needs of the piece, and the impacts of modern musical vocabulary for its deeper and richer image of heroism, as well as how ultimately the traditional music meet the modern needs of musical aesthetic appreciation.
