XiaoHong is a famous feminine writer in the modern history of China, as Xiao Zhiqing's saying, "I believe that XiaoHong's works are all classical and will be read by generations". This thesis will focus on the author's mixed perspective of underprivilege and enlightment, which lies in narratives about gender, class and nation. Shortly speaking, the underprivileged refers to the sympathy to the poors, the women, and the children, the enlightmental perspective refers to the critics to the Chinese nationality. However, XiaoHong combines them together. We can attribute the mixed perspective to XiaoHong's self experiences and her learning from the "May Four" pioneer, especially from LuXun.Besides of conclusion and one appendix, this thesis consists of a preface and three chapters. In the preface, we introduce the theory briefly which will be used, and in the latter three parts, we discuss the mixed perspective of underprivilege and enlightment.the sequence is narrative about gender, class, and nation. The whole words is 33,000.
