Chuang Tzu's Statements On The Real Existence Of Life And Its Obstacle

According to Chuang Tzu, Taoism created, existed and gave energy to everything in the universe, and therefore decides on all the changes in the lives of the universe. When Taoism is circulating fluently in one's body, life exists in its ideal form, which is healthy and free of any trouble. This state, according to Chuang Tzu, is called "enjoyment in untroubled ease". This state is a harmonious state of the unity of physical existence and spirits. When both one's physical existence and spirits returns to Taoism, one returns to its original ego, that is, freedom and joy.However, on the other hand, Chuang Tzu also thought that in reality, one can rarely return to Taoism due to a realistic ego which hindered the fluent flow of Taoism to life. Egoism is an illusion created by human beings' thinking. According to Taoism, it only exists in the imagination of human beings' mind, which will exist for a short while. Chuang Tzu also states that human beings are indulged in the illusion created by ego and therefore ignore the real existence of Taoism. Egoism brings stress to life, which in turn hinders the fluent flow of Taoism to life. This will result in the weakening of life expectation of life and therefore put life into the state of half dead. Human beings can not return to the real existence of life and enjoy the real pleasure and freedom of life due to egoism, which is the greatest obstacle of the return to Taoism.Then, how can one return to Taoism? Actively speaking, one should pursue Taoism and realize the existence of Taoism; passively speaking, one should stop thinking and get rid of egoism. The moment one is free of egoism, he will truly feel the existence of Taoism.
