As a form of art,translation is closely related to aesthetics. Therefore,either in theory or in in practice,translation studies could not be done well without taking in nutrition from aesthetics.The origination and development of translation aesthetics provide us with a deeper view of the translator's activity in the whole process of translation aesthetic experience. In the translation process, first of all,the translator, as an active and thoughtful aesthetic subject, carefully reads the original text, feels and appreciates its beauty, then represents the beauty in the translation through the refraction of his/her own aesthetic sensibility with his mastery of the target language. Thus, on one hand the translator represents the original text creatively; on the other hand, the translator will also present his/her aesthetic comment on the original text to certain degree and in this way treason against the original text will occur. Hence from the perspective of aesthetics, it may be seen that the creative treason will exist inevitably in the translation process.This thesis will study the translators'"creative treason"from the perspective of aesthetics and draw the conclusion that:translators should promote their aesthetic sense and aesthetic competence to be capable and creative enough to overcome TAO's objective conditionings and bring the aesthetic properties of the source text to the highest possible aesthetic perfection. Large numbers of bilingual translation examples, done by either foreign translators or domestic translators are quoted and discussed as examples to support my viewThe paper consists of five chapters. Chapter One introduces the background, purpose, methods and significance of the research. Chapter two makes a brief review of the aesthetic history in the west and east, and analyze the development of translation aesthetics in China and west. Chapter three focuses on the theoretical framework of the paper. Translation aesthetics and"creative treason"will be analyzed respectively. In Chapter four, a number of bilingual versions of translations are analyzed from the aspects of beauties in sound , form and meaning. This part shows how a translator bases his/her translation on the source text and creatively brings the aesthetic properties of the source text into the target language. Chapter five makes a analysis on how to apply translators's"creative treason"effectively in translating from the angle of translation aesthetics. The last chapter concludes that the"creative treason", as a kind of subjectivity, is inevitable from the perspective of aesthetics. It brings us some successful translated texts and makes for translation to take on diversified forms.
