Tao xunxuan is a famous calligrapher, calligraphy theorists, educators, and good at poetry, and painting in the late Qing dynasty. He is well-know for his great Bei "calligraphy" in six dynasties. "Jishan on poetry" is his theory book, now a manuscript, collected in the National Library of China.The late Qing Dynasty is one of the peaks in calligraphy history of China with the between "Bei" and "tie",extending to the Late Qing dynasty and the beginning of min.After more than a hundred years of controversy, the attitude ofpeople towards "tie" become moderate, and more objective compared to previous "radical". Tao xunxuan's attitude is one of the example of calligrapher in Qing Dynasty towards Tie.The attitude of calligrapher and scholars towards Bei and tie in the late Qing Dynasty is not a continuation of the previous generation, but a reverse. Tao xunxuan's points are in full compliance with the value orientation of the late Qing period. |
