The phrase with "de" is widely used in modern Chinese phrase structures, but the academics are concerned more about the structure "VP+de". Based on the language style and the grammar, this paper mainly focuses on the structure "VP+de" in China's Criminal Law to make a further study. Zhu Dexi has made distinctions between "self-referential" and "referential" in the structure "VP+de", and said that "self-referential" can only be used as an attribute. However, in China's Criminal Law, there are many materials in which "self-referential" is used as a subject. This is very different from the former discovery. With the study of the syntactic and grammatical features in China's Criminal Law, combining with the legal linguistics, this paper will reveal the characteristics of this structure "VP+de". The key point of this paper is to discuss the types of the phrase which is made up of predicates (including subject-predicate structure) and "de". In the sub-rules of China's Criminal Law, a provision is often made up of many "VP+de" structures to form a convicted and punished level. Including the characteristics of extensive and class nature, the most important feature of this structure is that there are a large number of self-referential whose heads are slightly hidden. In China, most scholars have done many researches on this problem in different aspects; meanwhile, there appear quite a few new ideas and free debates. In this way, the study based on the language style and the use of the structure in the legal texts will be an innovative approach.
