Kenzaburo Oe, as Japan's postwar new generation of writers, won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1994. He also enjoyed a high reputation in both Japan and China, with critics and readers being greatly concerned about his works. The paper is to analyze and discuss Kenzaburo Oe's novels by Bakhtin's "Carnival Theory".The Paper is divided into three chapters. The introduction briefly describes Kenzaburo Oe's literature achievements, the current research situation in China and the significance of this study. Chapter one introduces Bakhtin's "Carnival Theory" and its influence on Kenzaburo Oe's literature Creation. As the main part of the paper, chapter two discusses the carnival world constructed in Kenzaburo Oe's novels from three aspects. The first is the carnival of space, set in Kenzaburo Oe's novel is the carnival square named "Valley Village ". Followed by carnival characters, Kenzaburo Oe created a series of marginal carnival characters in his novels. Finally, the theme carnival, the description of "sex" in Kenzaburo Oe's novels shows the "sex carnival" at an individual level Chapter three examines the carnival implication from the perspective of the carnival world constructed in the novels. The first is subversion: by a rich and diverse marginal folk culture, the novels subvert the mono and closed mainstream culture under the control of "Tennoism", to build"the edge against center" schema. The second is openness: Kenzaburo Oe's novel reveals the dual nature of Carnival spirit. On the one hand is the alternation of "Death and rebirth" ; the other is " de-crowning and crowning ", the de-crowning of Mikado and the crowning of anti- Mikado embody the" open "spirit on the alternation and change .
