The Study On The Art Of Subway Mural

Since the 20th century, with the rapid development of social economy, the big city of the subway system has increasingly perfect. As a city window for a city, the subway plays a vital role in urban transportation, which is the main tools of the public transportation and is one of the most public spaces.The mural which appears for the subway, the subway mural, is worth our concern nowadays which plays roles in environment construction and causes many visual creation practices. Subway mural creation is not only an artist individual behavior, but a kind of social behavior which plays special role in this particular space. So its participation factor is more complex, and the range of function is also wider and far-reaching.The research topic is based on subway mural which is one of the fields of public art study, through the author personal investigation Beijing subway line 4 and analysis of domestic and international subway mural cases. Taking the characteristics of subway mural, location analysis, function as the breakthrough points, the report analysis the relationship between subway mural and public art from "space environment", "form language", and "social culture". This paper tries to rich and colorful theoretical system of subway mural creation which sums up the position and function of subway mural on basis of the analysis and conclusion of present subway mural.
