The Study On The Color And Material Of Subway Mural

Nowadays, as the product of economic development, the subway is a convenient transportation. The planning and design of the underground public space has also been widespread attention. As one of the important public art in underground space, the subway murals play an important role in the construction of subway environment development, which have close relationship with public space environment. Under the underground space, the subway mural makes people, building and space environment closer. It brings people not only the art atmosphere but also the visual and spiritual enjoyment.In this article, we firstly represent the relationship between the conception of color and texture and underground public space. Then the natural, symbolic and conceptual subway murals including color and texture have been focused researched, which combines multiple classic cases at home and abroad. The color and texture of subway mural have been changed and improved a lot from the simplex traditional paintings to the diversified modern frescos. As a kind of symbolic and expressive language of art, color can express creative connotation and artistic effect in the production directly, which can create the whole space artistic conception. As a kind of physical media, texture bears the mural arts. Inheritance and multiplex development of materials are the foundation of multiple sensory in subway murals, which can better connect with the architectural space. From the point of aesthetic regularity of color and texture in the fresco, the same and the difference of traditional and modern in color and texture have been studied, which provide theoretical basis for rational utilization of color and texture in subway murals. If the creation of subway murals can combine color, material, and pattern perfectly, it will beautify the environment and meets the demand of the public’s aesthetic spirit. Nowadays, the color and texture of subway murals change to the direction of pluralism and ecological, which adhere to the concept of sustainable development.
