| The theme of 2010 Shanghai World Expo is"Better City, Better Life", around which countries from all over the world displayed their latest technological achievements and cultures in Shanghai. The design of pavilions and display items are splendid and various. Especially, the interactive multimedia art installation is also applied to the design of Shanghai World Expo. Usually, people in the pavilions are involved in and interact with the interactive multimedia art installation items, so the display information would get to the audience directly through their thoughts and movements. Thus, this kind of display art form is apparently more attractive than an ordinary one.The author is one of the designers of Zhejiang Pavilion. During 2010 Shanghai World Expo, the author did a thorough research on each pavilion and especially on the interactive multimedia art installation items. In the author's opinion, the interactive multimedia art installation will have a wide use in exhibition design.Therefore, the author in this paper firstly defined the definition of interactive multimedia art installation on the basis of doing a research on the development of interactive multimedia art installation. Secondly, through analyzing the appeal of exhibition design nowadays, finger out what the interactive multimedia art installation could do in the exhibition design. Then the author set some typical examples about why some pavilions in 2010 Shanghai Expo chose interactive multimedia art installation in their exhibition design. What's more, By representing the reason why interactive multimedia art installation was used in Zhejiang pavilion in Shanghai Expo and the process of making the interactive multimedia art installation items, finally, the author come to a conclusion that interactive multimedia art installation has an advantage in exhibition design. Meanwhile, the methods of making interactive multimedia art installation in exhibition design were also summarized in the conclusion. |
