Under the action of internal and external causes, Madame Bovary ultimately become a classic novel of Chinese literature. The aesthetic elements within the novel are the fundamental driving force and the basis of classics. Only those works with superb artistic quality may become a classic. Agreement has been reached that Madame Bovary has achieved a high degree of art before entering China. It shapes the immortal classic characters: Emma. This novel has inspired narrative innovation of later novels. This novel got rid of barriers to acceptance by translation, crossed cultural gap and become a part of Chinese literature. Translation is the external driving force of classic, and the only way for Madame Bovary to China. In essence, the translation is the acceptance of translator and the foundation of public acceptance. As the final step in classical links, it included the acceptance of literary critics, historians, artists and the public. The acceptable level is the visual appearance of aesthetic appeal and translation. Additional, it's also the proof of whether it has become China's literary classics.How a foreign novel to be a Chinese classic? For Madame Bovary, three factors was involved. They are aesthetic elements within the novel, translation as the external driving force and acceptance of readers. This process involves several research areas of comparative literature, such as translation studies, accepting science theory, etc. This paper used a variety of comparative literature research methods, such as impact studies, image studies, etc.Each work is unique, and these characteristics have made their classic way different. The course of Madame Bovary into China's foreign literary classics has gone through rough and rugged roads. In the last 150 years, many factors have significant impact on its classic road. It's including the relationship between literary and other social fields, the relation of inherent poetics and social environment. How those factors affected their classic process. Answers to these questions, may give some clue about how to consolidate the classic position of traditional Chinese literary classics, especially of foreign literary classics, in the era of cultural consumption.
