In recent years, due to all kinds of competition, Verdi's works have been attached highly importance, not only in general normal university music college, but also in professional music college. In lots of competition and exams, most of players chose Verdi's soprano, although it was thought much more difficult. However, in my opinion, lots of roles in Verdi's soprano, such as Violetta, Gilda, Elvira and Elena, can not be expressed in good way by most of players. Most of them just try to work on the sound that limit their expression. They thought facile and gorgeous sound is enough to express these roles. Thanks for my tutor's guidance, I not only have the chance to perform these works, but also get the knowledge to dig in these roles. Especially, according to the research about Gilda in "Rigoletto", it was found that it was not enough to express this role in just facile sound like we thought before. In this article, I will start from the research about producing of Verdi's opera, try to analyze the character of soprano role like Gilda who has light sound but deeply meaning. Secondly, the works of the other three composers who live in the same era with Verdi will be compared with Verdi's works, in order to make sense of Verdi's writing style. Moreover, taking Gilda as an example, I will deeply research that the soprano with light sound in Verdi's opera represent his national spirit and patriotic ideals, in order to show that soprano with light sound has deeply meaning. I hope this article is helpful for the musical learners and performers on giving their modest singing guide and inspiration.
