The Research Of Zhuang Zi With Mythology And Witcheraft Culture

The thoughts origin problem of Zhuang Zi is inevitable for people who try to explain it. Since the thought of "origin from tai yi" of Zhuang Zi--the world appears, there are some different versions of explanation, such as "all return to Lao Zi" of Si Maqian, "an evident opinion" of Guo Xiang, and so on. Mythology origin is kind of explanation which appears later and is paid little attention, and few scholars are studying it. The current works mostly analyze Zhuang Zi just from citing and paraphrasing the myth, lacking of comparison of the similarities between their thinking mode and comparison of the essential differences between Zhuang Zi thinking and mythology. Therefore, there is still large room for analyzing Zhuang Zi from mythology and witchcraft.Since ancient time, Zhuang Zi is famous for its weirdness, which is related to the mythology in it. To analyze the influence of mythology and witchcraft in Zhuang Zi not only is good for us to explore its thoughts origin and understand it better, but also can promote us to investigate the influence of mythology and witchcraft culture from its priority in peaking time to its inferiority in late warring time.This paper concentrates on the special relation between Zhuang Zi and mythology and witchcraft culture, and presents discussions from three aspects:Chapter one:the development of mythology and witchcraft culture in Zhuang Zi's time is explored to provide background materials for arguments; Meanwhile extract and Zhuang Zi thoughts related parts, such as creation myths, deformation myth, compared to below both provide arguments.Chapter two, the influence of mythology and witchcraft on Zhuang Zi and his works is discussed from different aspects in detail; Zhuang Zi using myths by paraphrase, and scattered ;there are some people who are the same with fairy in the book, also have the characters with witchcraft similar activities; His philosophy can also find the source from the mythology and witchcraft culture Chapter three, make comparison in thinking essence to get their differences and Zhuang Zi's transcending to mythology and witchcraft culture.The previous study mostly focus on recovering myth materials or studying one aspect of Zhuang Zi'thinking features, based on which this paper aims to combine the two, get their similarities and arguments of origin, and meanwhile present discussion on their essential differences. From the discussion we can conclude that Zhuang Zi is deeply influenced by mythology and witchcraft culture, which is not only showed on the citation and paraphrasing of myth and borrowing of witchcraft activities, but also showed on deeper thinking mode. However, Zhuang Zi's thinking mode is not limited by mythology and witchcraft, and even he made transcending based on borrowing.
