Research On The Relations Between The Soviet Union And Polish Government In Exile (1939-1945)

After the outbreak of World War II, Poland was partitioned again by Germany and Soviet Union.With the help of western countries especially Britain and France,Polish government in exile was built,and it was immediately received and supported by them.It moved to London later. However.The Polish government in exile didn't proclaim that Polish-Soviet were in a state of war. In fact, it had broken off its diplomatic relations with U.S.S.R. After the Soviet-German War was broken out,for the common needs of defeating the Germany invasion,The Soviet Union and the Polish government in exile began to ease their diplomatic relations with each other.With the help of British vigorous mediate and support,The Soviet Union and the Polish government in exile restored their relations.But unfortunately the road of collaboration is hard.By accident, unexpected Katyn Event struck a deadly blow to the relations of The Soviet Union and the Polish government.The relations between them were broken off once again.Later. With the clear of the winner who might be won in Soviet-Germany battle field ,The Soviet Union started to support Poland's patriots,and the Polish government in exile was put on the back burner. Both Britain and USA considered the political promise that made for the Polish government in exile and realistic benefits.They expected that the Soviet Union could reconsider the relations with the Polish government in exile.But,the Soviet Union rely on its power ,raise the requirement of the negotiation with the Polish government in exile.At the same time,the Polish government refused the western countries advice that abandon the request of polish eastern provinces.The conflict of the Soviet Union and the Polish government in exile can not make concessions,so their relationships can not be repaired.
