This thesis is intended to interpret the rewriting in literary translation from the perspective of poetics of translation. The term "poetics" came from Aristotle's Poetics, but the "poetics of translation" is introduced by the distinguished French scholar Henry Meschonnic in his book Pour la paétiqueⅡ, Epistémologie de l'écriture, Poétique de la trduction ( Poetics of Translation, for short) published in 1973. First, this thesis tries to make a detailed clarification to the poetics of translation, on the basis of which, the interpretation would be carried out. Thus, it is started with the cultural studies, which is the disciplinary theoretical premise of it. The cultural studies came into being in the edge of 1950s and 1960s. The independent formative process of this discipline inspired the cultural model of translation studies produced in the early years of 1970s and the emergence of the translation studies as an independent discipline. Translation studies has moved its attention from endless debates on "equivalence" to the discussion of factors and manipulatory processes involved in textual production. Thus the term "translation norms", which refers to the constraints the translators encounter when they translate, was introduced and explored by Toury Gideon, Theo Hermans and others. Andre Lefevere's theory further explores the concrete factors of the translation norms and the theory of poetics is embedded in them. His poetic theory comprises two parts: one is an inventory of literary devices, genres, motifs, prototypical characters and situations, and symbols; the other is a concept of what the role of literature is, or should be, in the social system as a whole. Furthermore, some other scholars' views of poetics of translation are also referred to.Then, it begins to interpret the rewriting in literary translation under the theory of poetics of translation primarily from two levels: first, through the analysis of a series of translated texts, it is intended to expose the manipulation of the constraint factors, such as ideology, poetic status as well as the universe of discourse and language, in the rewriting of literary translation in different cultural contexts; second, the role of the rewriting of poetics of translation played in the literature, society and culture. The research of the two levels leads to the discussion of the relationship of the poetics of translation and the translation culture study, the latter is a quite broad concept and the former is an organic constituent of it. They include each other and are inseperatable. The study of the former will improve the study of the latter, and vice versa. Finally is the conclusion.
