Baijuyi And The Art Of Zheng Music

As a literary work, music poem is not only the product of a certain era, but reflects it as well.And one of the products of Tang Dynasty is Tang music poem, reflecting those social realities and music phenomena of that period, including the author's view towards music. This dynasty boasts the kingdom of poetry and music, producing a number of accomplished musical poets, Bai jvyi is one of them. Bai's music poems involve a collection of musical instruments, and Zheng plays a prominent role in it, because on one hand it is popular at that time, as the old saying goes: "people are riding to listen to Qinzheng(the earliest Zheng appeared on the world)"; on the other hand, Bai is crazy on it, for one of his famous verses is :"I am eager to see someone who can play this instrument perfectly".Based on analyzing a number of Bai's poetry of Zheng, this thesis elaborates some phenomena of Zheng culture, such as the name, shape, performance techniques and style of Tang Zheng. At the same time,it generalizes Bai's aesthetic appeal from the aspects of aesthetic subject and aesthetic object , including aesthetic pursuit , performing aesthetic pursuit, aesthetic appreciation of music sound of Zheng. And then comes some inspiration on how to play modern Zheng and appreciate.
