"Wu Bixia Phenomenon" Of Vocal Studies In China

The successful art practice of singer Wu Bixia, whose succeed exploration of folk sing method and occident sing method, exerted a great influence and has called on wide discussion in today's Chinese vocality circles. Some musicologists call this as"Wu Bixia phenomena". This paper has four parts, which sequencely described the reason and influence of"Wu Bixia phenomena"in detail, and furthermore look on the new direction for folk vocality development through"Wu Bixia phenomena".This paper emphasizes on Chapter 3, looking on a new method for folk vocality teaching enlightened by"Wu Bixia phenomena". From my own learning and practice, I have got a new understanding of"Wu Bixia phenomena". From my research and investigation, we can see the transition of Chinese today's vocality teaching concept mainly focus on the reason of"Wu Bixia phenomena"and the development of china folk vocality, the combination of belcanto and folk sing method, taking self practice and experience to analysis the feasibility and reasonability as well as exploring for a continuous development of"Wu Bixia phenomena". It can clearly show how Wu Bixia can master two singing styles through the division of basic factor of vocality into"voice factor"and"non-voice factor". The sustainability of"Wu Bixia phenomena"can be demonstrated from detail description of"voice factor"and"non-voice factor".This paper brings forward a new concept to break trichotomy sing method, which means the music technology obey to the music work style. Wu Bixia said that:"There is indeed a great vocality art difference between china and western countries, but the singing mechanism of human fully has enough strain capacity. The importance lies on that the human shall in his or her mind adhere to an open singing concept and keep flexible thought.", which summarized the importance and urgent breaking of inherent concept for the exploration of new development direction of folk vocality research.
