The Purpose, Principles And Methods Of The Huizhou Genealogical's Compilation Of The Ming And Qing Dynasties

With following the trend of compiling local chronicles, another tide of compiling genealogy was even going more furtherly through the country. However it made against the popularization and development of genealogy for what we had different understanding on the content,structure,and provision. As an outcome from Chinese traditional patriarchal society, geneaLogy was with a lot draffy items, like man is superior to woman. However still many of the contents also made great important realistic sense nowadays, just as the theory on filial piety and professional ethics.It will affect a lot on compiling that how we resist the dark sides and absorb the essence. The genealogy during ming and qing dynasties occupied a large quantity and also with distinguishing feature. From learning them for sure we can find a way on compiling today's genealogy.The preface part summarized the purpose and significance on this study,brief introduction on both research at domestic and overseas,also the clues and methods of this thesis. First part expounded the purpose for huizhou clan community to compile genealogy during ming and qing dynasties, mentioning the compiling was especially pertinent. Second part expounded the basic rules followed on compiling by huizhou clan community so we are also clear the changes on contents and calligraphy. Third part was a major part which mainly discussed some regular and important issues on compiling genealogy during Ming and qing dynasties. At last, the peroration part simplly cmmented genealogy during Ming and qing dynasties, and also pointed out how it effect today's compiling research.
