Throughout his life, Singer had been concentrating his effort on the core issue of Jews and their cultural existence. Through the analysis of key characters in Singer's representative novels, we can understand that the concern in Jew's living conditions and situations seen in Singer's novel always focus on the spiritual life and spiritual crisis under modern cultural shock and traditional cultural crisis. Moreover, they also show a vivid description and disclosure of the crisis on Jew's spiritual belief, emotional dilemma and lost of self.In how to deal with the issue of Jewish traditional beliefs, Singer's novels, on the one hand, accept the traditional beliefs on it's salvation of Jewish identity and national cohesion; on the other hand reflects the traditional beliefs and culture of questioning and the reality of the impact and challenges Problem. In most cases, the novels ended up with their returning to the Jewish tradition, which clearly expressed Singer emphasis on the traditional beliefs and the ideological tendency of traditional morality.As an important part of spiritual life, the human emotional life issues are also of particular concern to Singer's novel.
