The Redemption Of Spiritual Crisis And The Regression Of Humanity

In1982, Garcia Marquez won the Nobel Prize because of his One Hundred Years of Solitude. Since the book was published in1967, it leads a wild wave of century during thirty or forty years, which draws the attentions of literary critics throughout the world. Many scholars have done comprehensive and deep researches about the book from different aspects. Most of the studies are focusing on the analysis of the characters, the "solitude" theme and the Magic Realistic materials. However, the study on the basis of Ecological Criticism is not dug that deep. The paper tries to understand the book from the aspect of Ecological Criticism, discuss the reason why the Buendia family stays solitude for a hundred years, as well as how human beings redeem themselves to regain peaceful mind. According to this thought, the paper is mainly divided into three parts.The first part generally introduces the origin and development of Ecological Criticism, the definition of its connotation, and the critic target and duty of the theory. Also, it emphasizes the expression of Spiritual ecology and human’s psychological crisis, which have tight relation with the paper. The author enters the context from the angel of Spiritual ecology and foreshadows the discussion of the theme.The second part analyzes the reason of the story’s tragedy ending and "one hundred years of solitude" by dividing the typical characters and events into four chapters from the dimension of Spiritual ecology. Chapter one mainly analyzes the "solitude" that throughout the whole story. Chapter two, three, four discuss the reason of solitude from Macedonia, the Buendia family, and every single family members’aspects.The third part focuses on discussing that how human beings are beyond the solitude, protect and fix human’s psychological ecology, and recreate spiritual world when facing the severe natural ecology and Spiritual ecology crisis nowadays, with stating the specific expressions of natural ecology and the disequilibrium of Spiritual ecology so that people can return to their spiritual paradise, and find a poetic habitat for the soul.In the final part, the author makes a conclusion of the whole paper, and states the correlation between the book’s deep thoughts and human beings as well as shows the sharp situation of natural and ecological crisis to evoke human being’s awakening, and thinks about how to save the disequilibrium, which have a very important and deep realistic meaning.
