"no X Is Not Y" Format And Its Related Problems

Under the guideline of dynamic grammar, and with the application of the cognitive linguistics theories, this paper aims to study the Wu X Bu Y format at multi-angles. In this paper, the syntactic function, semantic features of the Wu X Bu Y format is expounded. The special group catchword of the Wu X Bu Y format is also studied. The paper is made up with three main chapters excluding the introduction and epilogue.Chapter 1, the topic is the Wu X Bu Y format which carries the meaning of "everything is". By the method of quantitative analysis, we found that within this format, Wu's function is a verb and Bu is a adverb. Unfixed part X is substantive and Y is predicative. Wu X Bu Y format's structures has three types:Subject-predicate type, adverbial-core type and predicate-object type. Wu X Bu Y format usually used as the predicate part of a sub-clause. Semantically, it can divided into 3 types:space,time and objects.Chapter 2, the topic is the Wu X Bu Y format which carries the meaning of generally cause and effect. Under this format, X and Y shows a relation of cause and format. This format is a combination of two meanings, one is a obvious assumption meaning, another is a deeper meaning which means requirements.Chapter 3, the topic is the catchword group of the Wu X Bu Y format. We studied the difference between the catchword group and the previous group, analysis the cause of the catchword. Explain the special meanings of them and describe the expression features. We raise the question of standardization of Wu X Bu Y format also.Chapter 4 Compare the Wu X Bu Y format and Fei X Bu Y format. Traditional Compare the Wu X Bu Y format and Fei X Bu Y format has a lot of difference. Their common points are that they both have some tendency of creating idiomatic terms and they share the similar synatic functions. Their differences are that Fei X Bu Y uses "Fei" as a negative adverb, Wu X Bu Y format use the "Wu" for as a verb.And Fei X Bu Y has a special situation that Bu Y could be omitted sometime without changing the meaning. Semantically, the Wu X Bu Y usually has a meaning of Every X is Y, but Fei X Bu Y usually means without X will not Y. But the catchword of the two formats are similar. The X and Y could be disyllable, and the meaning of the formats are the same. They also appeared in the same style of writing. It is assumed that the change happen to Wu X Bu Y affects its related formats Fei X Bu Y.
