The Baroque era is of vast importance in European music history. In this era,the art of vocal music grew rapidly,and the works of vocal music was undoubtedly a bright pearl in the history of vocal music development. George Frideric Handel was just an important composer in this era.The operas composed by Handel are the most well-preseved and played nowadays.To know about the style of compositions in Baroque era,it is necessary to have research on Handel's works of vocal music.Although Handel was in the prosperous time of eunuch singers,great attention was still paid to soprano part,and there were abundant types of soprano arias composed by him.To sing Handel's soprano arias is very benenficial to the establishment of voice tcchniques,the perfectness of breath control,ang the improvement of pronunciation methods.Through analyzing some soprano arias from Handel's operas which embodies the characteristics of his music to the greatest extent, the author tries to have research findings on these soprano arias from the perspectives of the development of vocal music techniques,the style and characteristics of the works,and performance of singing,etc, in order to help us find the value of Handel's soprano arias in both singing and vocal music teaching.
