Ethical Study On The Harmonious Family Construction In The Transitional Period In China

Family, the cell of the society, is both the destination of human emotions and the birthplace of people's happiness. Harmonious and stable family relationship is not only the important condition for happiness but also the basis for social stability and harmony. Family ethics is the important spiritual prop for maintaining family harmony and social stability. It standardizes and restricts family member's thinking and behavior in improving family harmony and happiness. Now China is in a transitional period, along with the development of reform and market economy, the traditional family values and ethical order has been broken, the new family values and ethical order that adapt to the times have not established. Such condition gradually diversified family ethical evaluation standard and resulted in many contradictions and conflicts in the field of family. As a result, the stability and harmony of family is greatly influenced and the pace of building a harmonious society is seriously hindered.In the context of building a harmonious society, the thesis discussed the relationship of family harmony and family ethics as well as family happiness. Then the thesis pointed out the great significance of the building of harmonious family in building a harmonious society. The thesis analyzed the situation of family harmony and the ethical dilemma in the construction of harmonious family in China in the transition period, and pointed out the mainly factors that lead to the ethical dilemmas. The factors includes the impacts of social transformation on peoples'values, the changes of family structure and function, the influences of traditional values and Western culture, the mechanism of imbalance of the social environment, the lack of effectiveness of moral education in schools and the changes in family culture and so on. The thesis also described the ethical characteristics of harmonious family construction under the current socialist market economic system pointing out that "people first" is the fundamental principle of current harmonious family construction and equality is the starting point for the construction of a harmonious family. The thesis illustrated that a new order of family ethics must be created for the current ongoing construction of family harmony. At last, the thesis pointed out the ethical way to construct family harmony, that is, first, create a good moral environment on the basic of current national condition; second, emphasize morality and intelligence on both family education and school education; third, strengthen the legal system to afford a strong protection for our family harmonious building.
