| Thoughts of Confucianism and Christianity are both treasures in Western and Eastern cultures. Characterized by"Ethics forms"and religious ethics of "holy love" respectively, Confucian and Christian regard "love" as their core contents in the thought. The two "love" of ethics base on their different views of human nature and the universe, therefore, the two "love" ethics have not only similarities, but also qualitatively differences. In connotation and essence of "love", Confucian is the love of humanity , Christian is the love of the God; while they are both transcendence on real world and people, In the performance of ethics relationship in "love", Confucian is a concentric round structure which deems "I" as center, containing love of blood family relationship and general social relations, and love of every people and everything; while in Christian, God, people, and property's longitudinal relationship of love and people-people horizontal relationship of love make a cross structure. The two structures respectively reflect on two species mode of "love"——self-contained type and balances type. The same points of the two are the same classical requirements and the hard-to-reach reality. Analysis on the behavior power, behavior performance and behavior results by the process of ethics behavior for the two "love" ethics is accordance with general moral code. Confucian's "love" of ethics is "spontaneous type", performed by loyalty, forgiveness and self-restraint, aiming to reach a sacred inner world; Christian, however, is for "response to the God", and to comply with commandments of God, and to honor God and to look forward to the coming of heaven. But Confucian is performance of self-implementation, while Christian is expression of religious beliefs. By comparative study on ethical thoughts of"love"of the two, on modern ethical problems, we can see the important role that giving ethical beliefs of "love", establishing ethical relationships of "love", regulating ethical practices of "love", classifying ideal pursuit of "love" on the construction of ethical values of "love" and the harmonious society. |
