Analysis Of Nanjing Public Art

In the big context of social transformation in china since the1990s, public art,as a newart form,entered into the vision of Chinese art research. This thesis took public art of thehistorical city Nanjing as a subject of research, focused on its present stage and made somecriticism and reflection on some exciting phenomena.Firstly this thesis analysed the concept, origin,evolution and the course of developmentof public art. Then it systematically illustrated the research areas and function of public art,and further more reviewed its debut and development in china.Secondly this thesis discussedon the external and internal background factors of the background of the Nanjing PublicArt,including the influence of the city culture back ground and the promotion from the boththe government and local artists. In the third part, this thesis described and generally combedthe present situation of Nanjing Public Art based on its form, distribution and concept in amore general way. Then it displayed a more specific research and analysis of some splendidcases, including the research and analysis on public art in Nanjing railway,the historic streetof Chang Jiang RD, and the City Squares, and similar public art,foreign and other cities tomake a comparison and summary of.In the fourth part, this thesis proposed some assumptionsand outlook on Nanjing public art. There are many issues on the development of NanjingPublic Art worthy of reflection,therefore,this thesis proposed some corresponding analysisand discussion on the audiences,the materials,the concepts and the management of NanjingPublic Art.
