The thesis focused on the life of Xing Shao and his writings, it had two chapters:The first chapter researched on the issues that related to the life of Xing Shao and his writings. Included three aspects: Firstly, we researched on the death year of Xing Shao, the reason for the taboo of Xing Shao to not to use his name, the relationship of the seniority between Xing Shao and Xing Shu,the death year of Xing Shao's son—Xing Da Bao, the two times of Xing Shao were banished and the official positions he were appointed after his banishments, the contact between Xing Shao and Yuan Cha, the morality of Xing Shao; Secondly, the title of "three excellent writers of the north" was named from the Yong Xi two years (533) to the Yong Xi three years (534) of Northern Wei, the competition between Xing Shao and Wei Shou in the literature. Both expressed their deep concern on the Southern literature, and revealed that they subconsciously held on to the local literature; Thirdly, researched the two essays of Xing Shao.The second chapter studied the achievements of Xing Shao's poetry and essays. The achievements of his poetry, essays for the nation and writings for the monument were expressed as: Firstly, Xing Shao's poetry presented the ethereal artistic conception, the sincere emotion ,the beautiful writing style;Secondly, Xing Shao paid a great attention to the skills of his essay form. The higher quality essays for nation of Xing Shao exist now were the three style—Zhao, Biao and the proposal writings. The Zhao had the grand momentum and the vivid quality; the Biao used the beautiful language, the appropriate allusion and was full of momentum, it had partially exceeded the same period of Liang dynasty. The proposal writing was rich in rational dialectics; Thirdly, Xing Shao's writings for the monument had the appropriate allusion and the gorgeous language, reflected an effort closed to the southern literature standard of "must see the beauty of the breeze". The uniqueness lied in the ability to use the motion to construct the writings, with the elaborate, contrast, metaphor and other artistic techniques, he put himself's emotional experience into the narrative of the monumental master. Thus showing the writings for the monument an overall deep emotion, enrich artistic conception, gorgeous language and neat sentence characters.
