The Utilization And Execution Of The Resources Of Traditional Arts And Crafts Of Lingnan On Fine Arts Teaching In Universities And Colleges

Lingnan Folk Arts were created in the area of southern China by its local people. People were appreciating and enjoyably sharing them with others, therefore, it made Lingnan Folk Arts grow vigorously. Lingnan Folk Arts reflected the local people's aesthetic taste and the spirit of the Chinese nation. It inherited the primitive arts of ancient Yue people and developed by absorbing essence of the Chinese culture. Lingnan traditional Arts and Crafts play a very important role in the Chinese history, but there are not enough young people willing to take over from the older artists in the recent years. Not only some Lingnan traditional crafts have been disappeared, but also some have even been lost their traces. Both of them are the great loss to the Lingnan and the national culture.For the purpose of keeping up and promoting the traditional arts and crafts of Lingnan, the thesis is going to research how to introduce courses regarding Lingnan traditional arts and crafts to schools according to the historical development, current status and value of Guangdong embroidery, Foshan's New-Year pictures and papercuts and Yangjiang's kites as well.This thesis objectively representates the current development status of the traditional arts and crafts, creating the concrete steps about setting courses by the means of undergraduates' questionnaires and visits and interviewing with folk artists and their disciples.Key points include:introducing the teaching modules of the arts and crafts and making an individual system of them, for example, establishing the system of double-qualifications teachers, studying the humanities, compiling the teaching materials of the folk arts, setting the appropriate curricula relating to them, pushing the students to attend the exhibition in the Art Museums etc. In the process of introducing the traditional arts and crafts of Lingnan to other fine arts courses, we are able to work out the strategies in order to solve the problems that the traditional arts and crafts of Lingnan face at the present time and put them into practice effectively.
