Song Dynasty is a developed period in Chinese tradition culture. There were many scholar appeared in Song Dynasty, and there are many notes written in Song Dynasty. Qi dong ye yu was one of those. Zhou Mi, the author was a famous scholar in Nan Song Dynasty. He was accomplished in literature, history, science and philology. Qi dong ye yu was his representative work. This note is abundant in content and involves multiple fields. It has great value for studying the politics, economy, socirty and culture in that time.This article is divided into six parts to discuss Qi dong ye yu from every angles.The introduction part, mainly introduces the reson for selected topic, the thorough research status of Zhou Mi and the related research methods used in this paper. At the same time, make necessary classification of entires in Qi dong ye yu before research. Then mainly introduces the author thorough biography family background origin, make friends and versions circulated, then make statistical classification of the historical sources of entires in Qi dong ye yu.As a note, the characteristic of Qi dong ye yu is arbitrariness, and the content is complicated, included the textual criticism of system in former dynasty and the historical facts in Song Dynasty of political, economy and culture. Those included history,natural science,literature,linguistics and folklore. And further research on some important entires.The text of Qi dong ye yu is rich in the literariness. This paper makes a detailed research on the literariness of Qi dong ye yu under the precondition of quoting modern western theories about historical literariness, and lists four characteristics of narrative, legendary, lyricism and the popularity.
