About the book of Liu Zi, academic research usually pays more attention on authorship than its literariness. When research Liu Zi's language style, metaphor,quotation, people have the sporadic evaluation instead of overall research. From the perspective of literature, Liu Zi is a complete and independent Zi redical book which with unique literary features. So,Liu Zi's literariness is worth studying and this thesis intends to discuss this problem through an introduction and seven chapters.The beginning discusses the reason and significance, the status and the trend of the topic. For the author's attribution, because of historical problems and insufficient document, we can't form a complete chain of evidence. So far, we have no final judgment about author's attribution. But from the perspective of ideological contents,Liu Zhou most likely wrote Liu Zi. So this thesis intends to discuss Liu Zi's literariness in combination with Liu Zhou's life.The first chapter introduces the reason why author attribution is difficult to clear from documents, history and text content in first place. Secondly, this chapter stands for that Liu Zhou's character trait and knowledge structure coincide with Liu Zi's content. Finally, this chapter introduces historical background of Liu Zi, Liu Zhou's life, political situation of the Northern Qi Dynasty and literature tendency of the Northern Dynasties.The second chapter discusses the art of Liu Zi's discourse. The first section discusses logic methods often used in the argument of Liu Zi, mainly consisting of inductive reasoning and deductive reasoning. The second section discusses skills of Liu Zi's discourse which includes comparison, assumption and metaphor.The third part is the discussion of material structure of Liu Zi. From the perspective of chapter arrangement, fifty pieces adopt interlaced mode which is deliberately arranged by the author. In the horizontal axis, Liu Zi connects the whole book by talent question; in the vertical axis, Liu Zi arranges pieces by bead-distributed form. Detailed said to the individual articles, Liu Zi forms a terse andvigorous style by echoing each other in front and behind and combing with reality and fantasy.The forth Chapter approaches the style or manner of writing in Liu Zi from the art of parallelism and the flat syntactical structure. It will induce and arrange the dual sentence pattern in this book preliminarily, which eliminates several classifications such as character pronunciation, character, vocabulary, sentences. This article also analyses the parallelism syntactical structures from three angles, which involves subordinate clause, simple sentence and compound sentence. There are three common structures which are summed up in this article, including parallel structure, the chiasmus and thimble rhetoric. Therefore, it can be initial analysis to the flat syntactical structure.The fifth part discusses the quote and allusion of Liu Zi. In the first section, this article collates the statistics of all the allusions in Lu zi, which also summarizes several methods of the allusions such as reversal, added or deleted, grafting and change. In the second section, this article analyses the allusions from three angles,which involves affairs, the appellation and language.Chapter 6 analyses the lyrical characteristics and critical Stance of Liu Zi. In the first section, the affective syndrome of the book is analysed via the Xi Shi literary piece which is rich in emotion and rhetorical questions. In the second section,according to Liuzhou's criticism to the evaluation criterion and social phenomenon,the criticalness of this book can be toke on.The last Chapter summarizes the style of language in Liu Zi. In the first section,this article expounds discussions from predecessors on the style of language. In the second section, it presents the plain and real style of writing from the angle which is the traditional view of literature in the Northern Dynasties. In the third section, the gorgeous style of writing is researched via the sumptuous ones in the Southern Dynasties.
