Combining with the official and unofficial history, the "the Romance of the Three Kingdoms" as the first lengthy serial novel in the history of Chinese literature, was written by Luo Guanzhong on the basis of popular story of Three Kingdoms in ancient China. This novel described the contradictions and struggles of politic and military among the Wei Kingdom, Shu Kingdom and Wu Kingdom happened in the end of Eastern Han Dynasty and in the whole period of Three Kingdoms, and showed the complex and particular contradictionsin that special history, but also greatly affected the posterity in politics, strategies, war description and historical literature creation.As the encyclopaedia in society of ancient Greece, the "Homer Epics" consisting of "Iliad" and "Odyssey" has been regarded as the representative of European epics since 2000 years. On the basis of the legends and mythologies, this moving and tragic epic described the struggles and society of ancient Greece in the turn of primitive clan to class society and sang the brave national spirit of people of ancient Greece.The "the Romance of the Three Kingdoms" also symbolizes the first war epic of our nation. Although there were a lot of literatures to describe the war, they did not have the features of epic. This novel described more than 40 battles and over hundreds of war scenes based on the decline and fall of Three Kingdoms. The battle scope, the battle duration, the high artistic quality of description of battles and the description of heroes in this novel are fully comparable to the "Homer Epics".This paper is going to compare these two works from the three points as differences between eastern and western epics, fully different images of heroes and the alike images of females in different societies.The first chapter analyses the features of war epics of these two works from the points of motivation and strategies of war, and discusses the different war ideas of eastern and western and their affection for literatures writing in the aspect of culture background of war.The second chapter reveals the different characteristics of the heroes in these two works through analysis of their images, and also explains the root of differences from the hero history and hero adoration.The third chapter compares the images of the females in these two works, points out their own features and studies the attitudes and its reasons...
