Kongtong is a famous place in the history of Taoism. Since the inception of Taoism, in the Eastern Han dynasty end, Kongtong Area as a Taoism cultural center, including the current Lingtai, Jingchuan, Huating, Zhuanglang, Chongxin, Zhenyuan, Longde, Pingliang, and Guyuan etc. Implication of the unique cultural elements of Taoism, it has important historical value in the history of Chinese Taoism.After the Ming and Qing changes Kongtong Taoism. The years of Yongle in the Ming dynasty, Temples of Kongtong worship into Zhen-Wu God by Wudang style. Han-wang family attached great importance to Taoism, Taoism forces rose, the years of Jiajing and Wanli, Taoism reached its peak, Kongong became one of the national branches of Taoism. By the Ming dynasty war, Wangfucheng war in the Qing dynasty, the year of Tongzhi Muslim war, the local Taoism experienced to the process of rebirth as a permanent from the decline. It is prosperity as a national branch of Taoism Northwest Area.In the Ming and Qing dynasty, it includes Quanzhen and Zh'engyi Taoism major sects of Kongtong. In particular, it is the most important Longmen sectarianism of Quanzhen Taoism. Middle of the Qing dynasty, Quanzhen Taoism pries began to value those, example, Talisman, Taoism ritual and Chinese geomancy. There is no difference between them gradually. Zh'engyi Taoism pries became Yinyang and warlock of local gradually. With the development of the times, Taoism shows the characteristics of folk and Secularization in Kongtong. These have significant features popular Taoism, including"Huanglu-hui","Beiguang-hui"and"Shui-hui".With the harmonious co-existence of Taoism and Buddhism in Kongtong,Religious and cultural development and prosperity, Buddhist temple, Tallinn and Taoism Temple side by side. It became a significant feature of religious sites in the Northwest Area.
