Russell is a philosophical master in the 20th century, and one of the founders of analytic philosophy. Russell's greatest contribution to philosophy was his created method of logical analysis. Russell search for simplicity, certainty of knowledge during his whole life, believes the methodology of the principle of Occam's Razor, hoping to restore the complex things to simple things, or something simple to construct the complex things. Whether the world is matter or mind is the basic problems of the traditional philosophy, he passed depth logical analysis of matter and mind, come to his neutral monism thought, restore the matter and mind to the more basic material of sensation. Neutral monism is not found by Russell first, before Russell, Mach and James came to similar conclusions. As a master of analytic philosophy, Russell draw its own neutral monism through logical analysis and logical structure. This approach is characteristic of analytic philosophy, it is also Russell's unique contribution. The first chapter briefly introduces the philosophical background of monism neutral, including Russell's research ideas and his neutral monism summary and the relevant theory of Mach and James. The core of the thesis is the second chapter analysis of "matter" and the third chapter analysis of the "mind", these two chapters, Russell described the concrete application of logical analysis. In the last chapter, summary and evaluation Russell's neutral monism and illustrate his unique contribution.
