19th century of England, as the dominant power in European capitalism, the economic base and superstructure, earth-shaking changes have taken place at a time while British women at all levels of the society, this change also experienced their different fate. During this period, the middle class in the economic, political-round victory, and formed a set of women reflects their unique view of consciousness, and sought in the form of a strong role to promote women in all walks of life to become consciously abide by a code of conduct. Painting just to promote their moral values become an important medium, so a lot of the performance of "Angels"-like functions and disclosure of fallen women, the social problems of women painting emerged. Through these paintings, not only when we understand the life experiences of British Women, unfortunately, at the same time demonstrate the unique feature of British portrait and genre painting.The first chapter based on economics and sociology, cross-cutting, British social conditions at that time to do a simple description of the performance of the productive forces of social change and the impact of women at that time.
