Germans belongs to the ancient Northern Europe nations, Goths belongs to the Germans as the strongest one who has multitudinous numerous population and multiply fast. Ostrogoths is a branch of the Goths, and they have profoundly affected the history of the Western Europe. After the decline of the Western Empire, Ostrogoths invaded Italy, killed Odvacer who had deposed the Roman Empire and ruled the Italy as a king. Then, Ostrogoths created their own kingdom in 493 AD. Until the year that Justinian the empire of the Byzantine conquered Italy in 554 AD, Ostrogothic kingdom existed 61 years. When the Western Europe was under the great migration which caused by Huns and was ruined seriously, the same happed to Italy, Visigoths, Huns, Vandals invaded in. But time has been changed as the Ostrogothic kingdom governed Italy in peace and Italy became a safely place so as to a short renaissance. As time went on, the gothic war caused inconceivable damage to the Italy, making Italy political fragmentation in Medieval and this also impressed significant to the western Europe.This paper includes four chapters. Firstly, I intend to represent the early history of the Ostrogoths, and describe how they defeat Odovacer. Then I will concentrate on Theoderic the great, who created Ostrogothic kingdom. At last I intend to describe the history that Byzantine Empire defeated Ostrogothic kingdom.
