From 1095 to 1270, despite those different objectives, various classes of people from Western European had dedicated themselves to a world-shaking war of conquest against east Mediterranean coast, which was known as the Crusades in history. The Crusades during this period were no less than seven times, the Children's Crusade happening between the fourth and fifth time. In terms of the Children's Crusade, the achievements from the foreign historiography circle have been abundant, whereas there is no specialization even many fallacious conclusions among the inland historiography circle.This paper manages to briefly summarize the cause and effect of the Children's Crusade. Firstly, in order to overcome the existed fallacious conclusions among the historiography circle, this paper specifically defines the concepts of"children"and"Crusade"and then elaborates what exactly the"Children's Crusade". Secondly, the major focus of this paper is the origin of the"Children's Crusade"which mainly contains two parts, the foundation - macro background and the incitant factor - religion fanatics. In the two parts, the basic macro background includes political background, economical condition and the state of all classes of society, while the religion fanatics include the formation of the pilgrimage tradition, the outburst of the religion fanatics, the propel of the Albigensian Crusade, the stimulation of Spain Crisis and the climax of the Chartres Crisis. Last but not least, the writer analyzes that how this ephemeral fanatic movement ended and where the pilgrimage army finally went.
