Army Logistics Management's Accountability Of Song Dynasty

Logistics management is an important part of the army management and state administration, and responsibility for the Logistics management is an important component of the logistics mannagement. Academics have already conducted some studies on the logistics management of Song Dynasty. Yet there were few researches on the responsibility for military logistics management. Therefore, the paper focused on this point with detailed discussion.Song Dynasty initiated an era of the army logistical responsibility for management systems based on the basis of its military and political situation and it inherited the previous dynasties'revelant systems. This system mainly covers the feed, equipment, military spending. Both from the central agencies to local agencies and from the main force to the local army, responsibility for logistics management are everywhere. The identity punishment also varied, ranging from the the civil officials to the generals and the soldiers. By analyzing all kinds of milititary management accountability, this paper claims that the Song Dynasty's logistics manangement accountability has four main features. They are as the followings, many main subjects of responsibility, sound methods of accountability, management accountability meeting the special requirements of military and following the Song Dynasty's military and political developments. At the same time, the paper also recognizes that the Song Dynasty's toleration toward corrupted officials which resulted in a wide accountability is difficult to implement, and in turn causes political corruption and the weakening of the national power. The aforementioned factors have a considerable impact upon the"long-term weak"of the Song Dynasty. Nevertheless, we have to admit that the Song Dynasty has such a perfect system, which not only keeps the Song Dynasty maintaining the normal operation of a large army, but also maintainiong its three hundreds years'feudal rule.
