Personal pronoun is a kind of content words with its particular characteristics, which is often used in child language. The acquisition of personal pronoun is mostly studied from the point of view of acquisition order. There is little theoretic explanation on this point. This paper tries to give more explanation from different point of view by way of the combination of individual study and group study so as to give a supplement to the present studies of it.The acquisition of personal pronouns experiences complicated processes through investigation. Pronouns belong to abstract word category. The development of child cognitive ability of is a process which develops from concrete to abstract. The acquisition of individual personal pronoun has its own order and characteristics. According to our study, we find that the first emergence of personal pronouns doesn't indicate the real acquisition of them. To judge whether the child has acquire them or not, we should take consideration of the regularity, the concise usage of function of grammar and semantics.The reasons which determine child language acquisition are mainly as followings: firstly, the development of language comprehension ability. It is previous to language output and it depends on the development of semantics and concept knowledge. Secondly, the influence of language input. Thirdly, the development of cognitive ability. Child acquires personal pronouns by schema, assimilation, accommodation and equilibrium.The first chapter (introduction) mainly discusses the present studies of this point from domestic and foreign scholars, ways of obtaining material and the purpose and significance of the study.Chapter II studies ten pronouns including referential address referring the first person pronoun before its presence in child language—I, you, he(she, it), we, you, they, zan, self and who. This paper studies the order of personal pronoun acquisition and regularity of acquisition in contrast to the previous studies and tries to find the similarities and differences.The third chapter and the fourth make explanation of personal pronoun acquisition from different point of view. The third chapter studies the acquisition of semantic system, in terms of semantic knowledge, conception knowledge and cognitive characteristic of child. The fourth chapter illustrates the main factors which influence personal pronoun acquisition from thinking ability, language input, comprehensive strategy and language acquisition device.
