This paper attempts the cultural differences from the classifications of figure of speech of Chinese and English and the concrete embodiment in Chinese and English. Compare the diversified cultural phenomena. Find out the similarities and differences of the figure of speech of the two languages and the formation of culture from these aspects: history origins, geographical environments, national traditions, natural phenomena, religions and believes, the views of colors, the ideas of animal and plants, myths and allusions, folk customs, values, ways of thinking. Through these cultural differences can we know the effects and significances of the figure of speech of the two languages as well as the translations of English and Chinese. Thereby, we can better understand the commonness and difference of each culture. And it will benefit the British and American students who will better understand Chinese culture in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
